To cater to more groups of families and multi-generational groups travelling together, Earth Lodge has transformed its Amber Suite into a striking, private villa.

The Amber Villa is located on the edge of the property, in the heart of the bushveld. One of the largest with the collection of luxury lodges by Sabi Sabi, the spacious 240m² villa features two bedrooms and two bathrooms and can comfortably accommodate four guests (with a fifth able to be hosted upon request.)

Design notes

The launch of the Amber Villa marks the final phase of renovation for all suites at the family-owned Earth Lodge. Long-term design specialist Dakota Designs was engaged on the project, curating each detail for a harmonious retreat in nature to reflect and appreciate the bush environment.

Natural textures, tactile walls, and rich woods have been used throughout the villa, while the colour palette has been taken directly from its surrounds, making it near invisible on the landscape.

In the living area, guests can relax on plump sofas and day beds, admire bespoke decorative pieces, and choose beverages from a fully stocked bar.

A workstation is provided for those who need it, and large windows and doors flood the room with natural light and encourage free movement out to the terrace lounge where leather hanging sling chairs are dotted for guests to take in the views over the surrounding landscape and private plunge pool.

The main bedroom suite includes an original carved Matumi headboard; and a dressing room leads to a small, private fitness area with a treadmill, light weights, and spinning bike. The adjoining ensuite features a luxurious freestanding bath and a double shower with walls clad in earthy hues and copper accents. A second bedroom with twin beds comfortably accommodates two people and includes a dressing and vanity area, as well as direct access to the outdoor lounge.

Authentic experiences

All the facilities at Earth Lodge can be enjoyed by guests staying in the Amber Villa, including the expansive main lodge and bar, lounge with a shallow pool for dining, a boma for evening meals under the stars, and the restorative Amani spa.

Amber Villa guests will also enjoy access to their own private game vehicle, knowledgeable ranger, and experienced tracker for the duration of their stay, allowing safari adventures to be tailored to their preferences and interests.
