The 260-key hotel in the One Bangkok district showcases a striking design and the city’s largest ballroom

The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok is now open in the Thai capital in the One Bangkok district. Positioned near Lumpini Park, the 216-metre-high building, developed by architectural firms SOM and A49, combines a modern facade with interior design rooted in Thai heritage.

260 guest rooms and suites showcase floor-to-ceiling windows that maximise light and views, with many rooms including private open-air terraces or loggias that provide unobstructed views of Lumpini Park and the city. The hotel’s penthouse, The Ritz-Carlton Suite, spans 389 square metres and boasts panoramic city views.

The hotel’s interior was designed by Thailand-based design studio PIA. The design blends materials and motifs inspired by the concept of a “meeting of two civilisations,” drawing from Bangkok’s rich and storied heritage while reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens. The main arrival area, known as The Front Hall, includes carefully selected artwork and historical photography to establish a strong sense of place tied to the cultural legacy of Wireless Road, where the hotel is situated.

Dining at the property includes French restaurant Duet by David Toutain, led by the Michelin-starred chef and housed in a striking glasshouse; Lily’s, a lively restaurant serving classic dishes with a contemporary twist; and Caleō – derived from the Latin for ‘being in love’, a luxurious lounge set against sweeping vistas and offering elegant afternoon tea as well as cocktails late into the night.

The hotel’s public spaces include wellness facilities such as a spa with five treatment rooms and a fitness centre, along with two swimming pools designed to complement the surrounding greenery. Families are catered for with a dedicated kids’ club, while event spaces include the city’s largest ballroom with a capacity for 1,200 guests.

A considered cultural program is also on offer for guests. This includes ‘Defining Moment’, where guests are invited to the Terrace to experience a new interpretation of a daily “Klong Yao” (Long Drum) ceremony, signaling the start of evening celebrations (including ‘Golden Hour’ cocktails inspired by stories from Bangkok’s rich heritage). Morning sessions of ‘Terrace Chi’ tai chi are set against the serene backdrop of the park, while ‘New Generation’ creative tours of the One Bangkok Art Loop offer a fresh perspective on the local art scene.

“As the first Ritz-Carlton property in Bangkok, we bring local traditions and culture alive through imaginative, immersive experiences, including performances, activities, and artistic journeys,” stated Tina Liu, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok’s General Manager. “Our stays are designed to create memorable moments that resonate with our guests, paying homage to Thailand’s ‘cultural bloom’ – the evolution from its graceful past to its exciting future.”
