Cathay Pacific launches Aria Suite on Sydney–Hong Kong route

The new Aria Suite has landed on Sydney–Hong Kong flights, bringing privacy doors, 24-inch screens and a fresh take on premium travel
Cathay Pacific has debuted its new-generation Aria Suite Business class on select flights between Sydney and Hong Kong, bringing a high-spec cabin upgrade to one of its key long-haul routes.
The Aria Suite, introduced on retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, is part of a broader upgrade that also includes refreshed Premium Economy and Economy cabins. The aircraft is currently operating five times a week, with regular deployment on flight CX162 from early April.

Designed around comfort, privacy and functionality, the Aria Suite features a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout with privacy doors, wireless charging, soft LED lighting and extensive storage. Each seat includes a 24-inch 4K screen – the largest ever offered by the airline.
“The Aria Suite delivers a reimagined cabin experience showcasing unrivalled comfort, style and functionality,” the airline said in a statement. “Artistry and craftsmanship have gone into every design detail… reflecting Cathay Pacific’s dedication to quality.”

Each suite also incorporates artworks created by Hong Kong-connected artists, part of the airline’s ‘Gallery in the Skies’ initiative. This cabin concept follows the airline’s design theme of ‘Where Artistry Takes Flight’.
The Sydney–Hong Kong route is the first long-haul outside Europe to launch the Aria Suite. It follows the product’s debut on the London–Hong Kong service earlier this year.

“We are proud to bring our highly anticipated, premium and customer-centric Aria Suite, brand-new Premium Economy and refreshed Economy cabins to our customers travelling to and from Australia… It demonstrates the importance of the Australian market to Cathay Pacific,” stated Frosti Lau, Cathay Pacific Regional General Manager for Southwest Pacific. “We understand that customers are not just looking for a comfortable seat, but rather a space where they can enjoy, relax and immerse themselves in the experience.”
Cathay’s new Premium Economy also gets a full overhaul. The upgraded cabin includes larger seats, 15.6-inch 4K widescreens with Bluetooth audio pairing, and more privacy. There are also new lavatories dedicated to Premium Economy passengers.
The launch follows Cathay Pacific’s 50th anniversary of its direct Sydney–Hong Kong service in late 2024 and is part of the airline’s HK$100 billion investment in fleet upgrades, lounge improvements and digital innovation.
