Bookings open for a little piece of Africa in South Australia

The unique resort concept offers premium safari tours, available exclusively to guests, aboard custom-made vehicles that will allow visitors to explore 550 hectares of open plains

Bookings are now open for Monarto Safari Resort, a unique luxury resort opening in South Australia on 28 May 2025. The resort is located alongside the Wild Africa precincts of Monarto Safari Park – the largest open-range safari experience outside of Africa and home to more than 50 species of exotic and native animals. The new resort, developed by experiential tourism group Journey Beyond, will provide visitors with an immersive wildlife experience in the heart of the Murraylands.

The resort, set against the backdrop of picturesque waterhole views, features 78 rooms and suites overlooking Monarto Safari Park’s expansive plains and a world-class spa with treatment rooms, a thermal plunge pool, an ice bath and a sauna. Additional amenities include conference and function spaces, a restaurant, two swimming pools, and a luxury Safari Lodge comprising 20 high-end tents, set to open later in the year.

One of the resort’s highlights is its premium safari tours, which will be available exclusively to guests. Fully guided dawn and dusk safaris will be conducted aboard custom-made vehicles, allowing visitors to explore 550 hectares of open plains. Guests will have the opportunity to observe African wildlife in a habit akin to the species’ natural habitats found in Africa, and enjoy sundowner drinks and canapés as the sun sets over the landscape.

The resort is expected to boost South Australia’s tourism industry, attracting both interstate and international visitors for events, meetings and weddings.
