World Expeditions has released its 2025 adventure travel trend predictions ahead of the company’s 50th anniversary
As 2024 draws to a close, World Expeditions has released its list of predictions for the destinations that will dominate adventure travel in 2025. The list features a range of emerging destinations that, in particular, will appeal to adventurers seeking immersive and off-the-beaten-path experiences. Among the forecasted locations are Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Western Mongolia, Ladakh in India, Northern Peru (Huayhuash), Pakistan and Japan’s lesser-known walking trails. Additionally, Raja Ampat in Indonesia is predicted to be popular, alongside Tibet, renowned for its rich spiritual heritage.
“Travellers today are increasingly drawn to authentic cultural experiences away from the crowds. There’s a growing awareness about avoiding over-tourism, and these destinations provide both unspoiled beauty and deep cultural heritage,” stated Sue Badyari, CEO of World Expeditions upon the release of the list.
World Expeditions emphasises cultural preservation and responsible tourism in its tours, with a focus on collaborating with local guides, porters, cooks, and community members in each destination. The company’s long-standing commitment to the “leave no trace” philosophy remains a core value. “We understand the dual privilege and responsibility of exploring emerging destinations,” stated Badyari. “Our well-established relationships ensure that your travel dollars are making a meaningful difference in the places we visit… When travellers join us, they are engaging in tourism that benefits local communities and respects natural environments.”
