About the hotel
Perched on the edge of majestic Sydney Harbour, Park Hyatt Sydney offers views of the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The hotel houses 155 spacious guestrooms and suites, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors and private balconies that make the best of the harbourside location. The contemporary interiors include specially commissioned artwork, paintings and sculptures by Australian artists, and custom-made furniture and lighting. The hotel is within walking distance of several major attractions around Sydney, including the historic centre, The Rocks.
Unique features
The hotel places an emphasis on service, with a dedicated 24-hour personal butler and even a private wharf, accessible by water taxi. It also offers complimentary morning CBD limousine service and airport transfers, as well as a same-day laundry and dry-cleaning service.
Dining
Dining at the Park Hyatt Sydney can be done in either the Dining Room, a stylish waterfront restaurant headed by chef Franck Detrait, whose sophisticated menu features a hint of French technique; or in the Living Room, a more casual setting providing breakfast and light meals. We were very well looked after in the Dining Room and I enjoyed the best steak I have ever had in my life; a David Blackmore Wagyu beef tenderloin with red wine jus and potato puree. I will remember that meal for a long time. A range of Australian and international wines can be found at The Bar, as well as a monthly cocktail created by The Bar’s team of mixologists.
Spa
The Spa at Park Hyatt Sydney offers treatments tailored to each guest. They use iKOU products made in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. For an incredibly indulgent experience, try the Australian Awakening package, 5.5 hours of pampering including a body scrub, massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. It ends with a spa lunch and glass of champagne on the harbour.
Highlights
The Park Hyatt rooftop is home to a heated swimming pool with spa, private sun deck and cabanas from which to relish the panoramic views of the harbour and cityscape.
Upgrade
The Sydney Suite measures an impressive 350 square metres, with a sauna, fireplace, indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a palatial master bathroom, which features an enormous spa bath. The two bedrooms each have custom-made cotton linens and spectacular views over Sydney Harbour.
Insider tip
The hotel offers a number of activities including a weekly Vitality jog around Sydney Harbour and the Royal Botanical Gardens led by a hotel team member; a one-hour Vinyasa yoga class held every Thursday morning; and a private walking tour around The Rocks every Saturday at 1:30pm.
