The new resort promises to redefine luxury living on Bali’s southern coast when it opens in 2027

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will open a new luxury resort and branded residences on Bali’s southern coast. Slated to open in 2027, the Mandarin Oriental, Bali, promises to deliver an unparalleled luxury experience on the picturesque Bukit peninsula.

Perched on a cliff-side plateau, the resort will offer dramatic panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and direct access to a secluded white-sand beach. Designed by design LAB architects and renowned interior designer Jeffrey Wilkes, alongside landscaping expert Bill Bensley, the resort aims to capture the essence of Balinese culture and craftsmanship while maintaining Mandarin Oriental’s high standards of luxury and attention to detail.

The project is a collaboration with local real estate developer Harmoni Bali. The resort will feature 110 suites and villas, each designed to harmonise with the natural surroundings and offer private terraces or gardens, with most featuring private pools.

The resort’s dining experiences will include a cliff-edge restaurant and bar, a specialty Chinese restaurant, a speakeasy bar, and a beach club, showcasing the best of Indonesian and international cuisine. A sprawling cliff-front lawn will serve as a backdrop for weddings and events.

For those seeking relaxation, the all-inclusive Spa at Mandarin Oriental will provide a range of wellness treatments inspired by Balinese traditions and customs. The spa will include heat and water therapies, outdoor swimming pools, and an extensive fitness centre.

Additional leisure facilities will include a dedicated Kids Club, tennis courts, padel courts, a beach club with water sports, an organic garden, and a sustainability lab.

The resort will also cater to golf enthusiasts, with its proximity to the Bukit Pandawa Golf Course and the Bali National Golf Club. Mandarin Oriental’s branded residences will feature 68 private villas, ranging from three to six bedrooms, offering access to a dedicated clubhouse and all resort facilities.

Bali’s Bukit peninsula, known for its dramatic coastline, white sandy beaches, and varied landscape, is a prime location for this new development. The resort will be just 30 minutes from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport and popular tourist destinations such as Jimbaran, Uluwatu, and Sanur.
