Aman New York opens as an urban oasis hotel in Manhattan
The new Aman New York is now open, located in Manhattan’s historic Crown Building. The 83-suite urban hotel was created in partnership with long-time Aman collaborator Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects.
The building, with a gilded exterior, features a double-height atrium with multiple layers of textured ceiling and wall panels in muted tones.
A lush, 14th-floor wraparound Garden Terrace will host year-round dining, surrounded by water features and fire pits. The property’s two signature restaurants include Arva, Aman’s Italian dining concept serving cuisine made from locally sourced seasonal ingredients; and Nama, Aman’s Washoku Japanese restaurant with an intimate Omakase bar. Guests can enjoy daily live performances in the Jazz Club.
The hotel features the first Aman Club with dedicated facilities for members to enjoy, including exclusive access to two Club lounges, a private Garden Terrace, and a Cigar Lounge and Wine Room.
Set over three levels is the spacious Aman Spa which includes an indoor 20-metre pool, 10 treatment rooms and fitness facilities. Two Spa Houses will offer a first for New York City with a spacious double treatment room, sauna and steam rooms complemented by hot and cold plunge pools, and an outdoor terrace with cabana, daybeds and fireplace.
Aman Branded Residences, also part of Aman New York, is a collection of 22 private homes located on the upper floors that carry Aman’s trademark understated elegant design.
Aman New York is the brand’s third property in the United States, joining Amangani in Wyoming and Amangiri in Utah. Aman Miami Beach is scheduled to open in 2024 and Aman Beverly Hills in 2026.
