Virgin Voyages Expands Entertainment Lineup with Star Mark Ronson
Virgin Voyages has released new information on its partnership with Academy Award, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning artist and producer Mark Ronson, who is joining the company’s Creative Collective – a group of world-class tastemakers, artists and designers collaborating with the brand to bring new cultural experiences to sea. In his role as the company’s “Minister of Music,” Ronson will be creating a series of pre-voyage and onboard playlists for onboard guests, as well as curating the vinyl record selection in the RockStar Suites and the ship’s vinyl and music shop – Voyage Vinyl.
In addition, Ronson will be working with Virgin Voyages’ music teams to define the brand’s sound at sea as well as at The Beach Club in Bimini, Bahamas — a private and luxurious beach club that is exclusively for Virgin Voyages sailors. As a part of the On Deck residency program, Ronson has committed to four performances at The Beach Club at Bimini in 2020, with his July 9th poolside performance only available to those who book the July 5, 2020 Mayan Sol sailing.
Joining Ronson will be legendary DJ and record producer Diplo, who will also participate in the expanding On Deck program and perform at the Beach Club in 2020.
With morning yoga and meditation starting the day at the private club, the DJ-led pool and floatilla parties will be the centre of the club as evening approaches, including a fire ritual and open bonfire to finish the night.
A guaranteed highlight for passengers (‘sailors’), the Scarlet Night is one of Virgin Voyagers’ signature onboard parties and will take guests on a journey around Scarlet Lady. The one-of-a-kind event was conceived, designed and produced by the award-winning Randy Weiner, who produced Sleep No More, Queen of the Night and The Donkey Show. Scarlet Night is a glamorous occasion filled with groundbreaking music to set the mood as guests dance the night away and marvel at the various art installations and performances throughout the ship as the night progresses.
The excitement continues with an after party created by Brooklyn, New York’s House of Yes, which was recently named the number two Best Thing To Do in the World by Time Out. Their esteemed theatre-infused nightclub boasts fabulously-dressed guests, circus spectacles, immersive cinema, cabaret performances and more.
Londoners can additionally experience a taste of Scarlet Night on Tuesday May 21st, as the event comes from sea to land for one night only. Attendees include Ronson, who will perform, and VIPs and celebrities such as Geri Horner and Holly Branson.
The Scarlet Lady, a vessel replete with glamorously-designed cabins and 20-plus eateries, will be stopping in Dover and Liverpool in late February and opening its doors to travel advisors, media and VIPs. After hosting a number of exclusive events there, she will make her way across the pond to her new home of Miami.
