With a scenic rooftop bar and pool and a sultry lounge and restaurant on the basement floor, this award-winning stay is impressive from top to bottom

The Barcelona EDITION has been awarded the Best New Hotel in Spain by the Spanish edition of the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Awards. The awards ceremony took place at the Italian Embassy of Madrid on June 4th, with an evening inspired by the 50th anniversary of humankind’s arrival on the moon.

Since its opening in September 2018, the Barcelona EDITION has become the reference hotel of the city, both for stylish travellers visiting Barcelona and locals looking for a stand-out culinary experience and unique entertainment.

The hotel is currently celebrating the summer season with a new menu at its tenth-floor rooftop bar, lounge and pool, The Roof. Surrounded by panoramic views of the city, it boasts an all-day menu with flavours from Latin America and Asia. Cabaret, a lounge area, cocktail bar and restaurant, additionally offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant is located on the basement floor and serves traditional dining indicative of Barcelona culture but with a modern twist.

The supper club presents a new avant-garde à la carte menu comprised of classic dishes and contemporary cocktails, but the real treat comes after dining, when the curtains are drawn to reveal the stage and the night’s entertainment begins. Ranging from cabaret to live music and DJs, this modern luxury nightlife experience was created by Ian Schrager and goes on into the early hours of the morning. Each night boasts contemporary lounge music but additionally showcases live music on Wednesdays and curated DJ sessions on Fridays and Saturdays. The supper club’s expert programming mixes renowned musical acts with unexpected and risqué performances from local talent.

The Barcelona EDITION offers 100 rooms and suites, each with their own stunning city views overlooking Gothic Quarter, Santa Caterina Market and the district of El Born. State-of-the-art beds are adorned with EDITION’s Signature imported luxury Anichini linens and custom-designed furniture with carefully-selected fabrics such as the embossed Spanish leather headboards. The bedroom walls are clad in walnut panelling and the floors feature a fresh oak herringbone parquet.

Guests are additionally treated to bathrooms decked in white Sivec marble detailed with contrasting brass hardware and custom-scented Le Labo amenities. Two stunning penthouses with their own private terraces, laid-back lounge areas and dining furniture complete the luxurious experience. Guests can have private al fresco meals and relax under the Catalan sun in Spain’s best new hotel.
