Sydney’s newest boutique hotel the Larmont Sydney opens in Potts Point

Guests of the boutique hotel will be treated to a complimentary happy hour and yoga classes at BodyMindLife.

The Lancemore Group’s first city hotel, Larmont Sydney, has opened its doors just around the corner from the iconic King’s Cross Coca Cola sign. Formerly the Diamont Hotel, the building has been completely refurbished in a sleek minimalist style by acclaimed interior design studio Hassel. The privately owned top floor apartment above the hotel has also been acquired by the brand and converted into a series of city-view suites. All 103 of the simple, uncluttered rooms contain high-end touches such as marble bench tops, leather bed heads, freestanding tubs and a smart TV equipped with Netflix, Apple TV and Bose Sound Touch.

Rooms have open closets

Inspiration for the hotel’s service and amenities has been drawn from boutique hotels across the world, resulting in a number of offerings not commonly seen in Sydney hotels. These include complimentary yoga and pilates classes at the adjacent BodyMindLife (in addition to gym access) as well as happy hour with a free drink and canapés every night. The minibar in the room will also differ from the norm, with guests allowed two complimentary items from a selection of premium wines rated 93+ by James Halliday, all available at retail prices. Four of the Courtyard Rooms are dog friendly, with canine guests being offered a welcome treat, food and water bowls, and a bed.

City views from the bathroom

The hotel is part of the ongoing transformation of the Kings Cross and Potts Point area, which is fast becoming popular among visitors to Sydney thanks to its close proximity to the CBD, harbour views and high concentration of award-winning eateries. The boutique property is the second to open in Potts Point this year, joining Spicers Retreats’ 20-room hotel on Victoria Street.

Rates for the Larmont room start from A$299 per night.
