Ski-in, Ski-out of QT Falls Creek Resort

QT Falls Creek Resort

What happens when après-ski cool meets designer chic? You get QT Falls Creek resort.

In June, Mirvac-operated Quay West Resort & Spa, Falls Creek officially rebranded as QT Falls Creek Resort. The property is the first ski offering from the QT brand and is set to become every bit as quirky as its sister properties in Sydney, Port Douglas and the Gold Coast.

The property originally opened as Quay West Resort & Spa in 2009, in the centre of Victoria’s largest ski resort and in 2013 was the winner of Best Australian Ski Property in Luxury Travel magazine’s Gold List Awards. Falls Creek is Australia’s only drive-in, drive-out, ski-in, ski-out resort and this five-star apartment hotel is tucked in at the base of the main ski runs, so close to the action that you could almost have a chat with the lift operator from your balcony. Hotel designer Nic Graham leads the redesign of the resort to imprint the 63 luxury one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments with the QT brand’s eccentric style. Each suite will retain its modern interiors, under-floor heating, open-plan living areas, European laundry and drying cupboard, and hot tubs on most balconies for making the most of the uninterrupted views.

The main features of the redesign are the addition of QT Hotels & Resorts signature dining venue, the interactive marketplace style Bazaar, cocktail bar Stingray Lounge to help warm the chilly evenings and spaQ, which will offer ski-inspired spa experiences. David Seargeant, Group Managing Director of QT’s parent company Amalgamated Holdings Limited said that the distinctive design of the luxury apartment complex represented the ideal opportunity to bring the QT Resort brand to Falls Creek. He believes the QT brand is riding on the global wave of design-led lifestyle hotels that provide high-energy restaurants and bars in the boutique, highly stylised design.

The weather reports are looking good, so we suggest you strap on your skis and get to where the party’s at this season. Rates during the peak ski season start from A$688 per night including breakfast with a minimum two-night stay.
